Standing right around 6’3, Iman is a very intriguing shooting guard possessing an excellent first step through traffic. Iman is already a wiry strong multipositional defender who is capable picking up both perimeter guard threats. He clearly possesses the necessary burst to get by opponents off a light jab step or by attacking straight up. Iman proved to be an impactful help side defender, given his lateral quickness and bounce. Multiple times, Iman Jr quickly rotated to meet rim scoring threats with emphasis. The shooting guard showed the ability to hit jumpers out to the three point line, typically off the catch. He will be a must know name given his defensive potential and uncommon athletic skillset.
Kameren Davis – Riverdale Ridge – 2024
At 6’4, Riverdale Ridge has a wing with a very unique skillset at his size. Although Davis is more than capable driving and scoring given his long strides, the x-factor skill resides with his passing vision. Surrounded by creative scorers at Riverdale Ridge, Davis is an opportune passer all along the perimeter as a high low creator or out the mid-post finding cutters. The wing also brings a very high upside finishing package that is more so flashes right now, but with a larger role I believe Davis can be a very tough cover come the fall. The biggest key for Davis is continuing to refine his change of directions with the ball, finding ways to leverage his passing abilities at 6’4 will be a must.
Troy Hill – Sand Creek – 2024
Hill is the most physical name on this list at 6’3, he was an influential energy wing who immediately raised the collective team floor. Hill proved to be a disruptive rebounder on both ends, largely due to his mobility. Another strength of his came from the perimeter, hitting a couple threes off the catch and in turn keeping the defenses honest.
Brandon Philpot – Sand Creek – 2023
Philpot is a powerful ballhandler capable creating a few feet of space from a single crossover. At 6’, the point guard brings a unique two-way combination as a high energy defender and equally interesting offensive playmaker. Given how effective his downhill drives are, the defense often collapses onto him. Philpot did great realizing these traps and immediately kicked out to the corner shooters. Philpot will be an dependable drive and kick threat for Sand Creek, specifically a guard who immediately makes a positive impact on both ends.
Ty Brown – Arapahoe – 2023
Brown is a budding perimeter threat who is gaining more steam as an off the dribble creator down the stretch. At 6’3, Brown already possesses a dependable jump shot out out to the three point line, notably off the catch. Last week the shooting guard came up with the game on the line, using a crossover to break down the defense and finish through traffic for the win. Brown’s strength is easily his biggest x-factor as a 2 guard, when leveraging his size on drives there is very little defenses can do.
