The Hustle Region Circuit consists of AAU Programs from California, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Idaho, Colorado, and New Mexico. The circuit features 10 stops including the Hustle Region Final in Irvine July 15th – 17th. Stop 6 brings us to the Pacific Northwest and Centralia, Washington where 46 teams will compete all under one roof at the NW Sports Hub. Several players are prepared to shine. In this article, we take a look at some of the players to watch.
Graham Eikenberry Graham Eikenberry 6'10" | PF St Andrew’s RI | 2023 State OR 6’11 C BDH 2023 (#18PHO 2023) – Eikenberry has size, and because of that routinely makes my top rebounders list. What I want to see this weekend is how his offensive game is coming along. BDH doesn’t enter the ball into him much, but when they do, I will be looking to see if he’s capable of scoring with his back to the basket. If not can he find buckets off putbacks and or in transition?
Yusef Kibra 6’7 PF Fuego 2023 – I watched Kibra play on our circuit last season, and was impressed with his motor and defense. Want I want to watch is an overall improvement. Has he added the ability to stretch the floor, does he block shots at a higher rate? All of these are things I will be keeping an eye on this weekend.
Parker Gerrits Parker Gerrits 6'1" | PG Olympia | 2023 State WA 6’1 SG Roots Academy 2023 (#2PHWA 2023) – Gerrits can go! The Shooting guard is a natural scorer that can dominate on or off the ball. He’s a player to watch in the sense of college coaches should be watching him because he has a chance to be one of the top prospects from this event.
Parker Baumann Parker Baumann 6'5" | CG Shorecrest | 2023 State WA 6’5 CG BDH 2023 (#26PHWA 2023) – Baumann has been good, traveling out of town and putting up solid numbers. Now in his home state, I’m looking for him to explode. The combo has good backcourt size and is a multi-level scorer. If he can find a comfort zone and start knocking down both his mid-range and three-point shots, look for him to be a trendy all Tournament team pick.
Andrew Collins Andrew Collins 6'4" | SG Tumwater | 2023 State WA 6’4 SG Roots Academy 2023 (#62PHWA 2023) – This will be my first look at Collins. The guard will be playing with many of his Tumwater teammates, on Roots Academy. He’s coming off a season where he put up nearly 13 per game on a 20-win team, so my obvious question will be.. how does he score? In addition to watching his offense, the 6’4 guard is a good rebounder and his ability to clean the glass will be something else that I watch closely this weekend.
Jordan Clark Jordan Clark 6'1" | PG Seattle Christian | 2023 State WA 6’2 PG Seattle Stars 2023 (#75PHWA 2023) – Not 100% sure if Clark will be playing with the Stars or another program this weekend. but I know I want to see him play. The dynamic PG has a strong handle, to go along with a high IQ and good playmaking skills. Looking to see if he can consistently knock down open threes, if he does that then it makes him extremely difficult for opponents to handle him in 1 v 1 situations.
