Jamari Dean – South Miami
2023 Jamari Dean could see an increased responsibility with five players graduating for the Cobras. The 6-foot point guard averaged 13.7 points, four assists, three rebounds and 1.4 steals per game. Overall, Dean finished in double-figures in 11 of 13 listed contests. He scored 17 points and hit two 3-pointers against Belen Jesuit (19-7). Dean was also a pretty good passer against good competition. He recorded nine assists against Divine Savior Academy (15-7) to three turnovers. In addition, Dean had seven dimes to one miscue against Miami Country Day. His overall shooting percentage is an area he could improve in.
O’Cien Valdes – South Dade
2025 O’Cien Valdes could be a rising sophomore to watch. The point guard prospect averaged over 15 points per game for the Buccaneers. Furthermore, Valdes scored 20 or more points in nine games. Valdes had 24 points against Miami Palmetto (20-9) and Miami Southwest (14-8). His skill and early productivity has upside.
Rey Daniels Rey Daniels 6'0" | PG North Miami | 2024 FL – North Miami
I think 2024 Rey Daniels Rey Daniels 6'0" | PG North Miami | 2024 FL will have a bigger role going forward with multiple players graduating for the Pioneers. The 5-foot-10 guard averaged eight points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field. Daniels also went an impressive 28-of-58 (48 percent) from deep. He shot 50 percent or better from the floor in every contest he scored in double-figures (six games). On defense, Daniels averaged over two steals per game. He will bring pressure on defense and plays with a ton of confidence. Therefore, I think Daniels will have a big summer and upcoming junior season. His brother, 2022 Rick Daniels Rick Daniels 6'0" | PG North Miami | 2022 State FL , was an excellent guard for North Miami’s 22-win season.
Cristian Paredes – LaSalle
Cristian Pardes had a good freshman season for Miami LaSalle. The 6-foot guard averaged 11 points per game across 21 contests. He scored 18 points against North Miami and 16 points against Gulliver Prep. Overall, Paredes finished in double-figures 14 of 21 games. He would be the top returning scorer for the Lions.
James Tejada – Divine Savior Academy
2023 James Tejada flashed some potential down in Doral. The shooting guard prospect averaged 13 points per game while shooting 42 percent from the field. Tejada shot 50 percent or better from the floor in seven of his 14 double-figure outings. He also hit 62 3-pointers at a 40 percent clip. Moreover, Tejada hit five or more 3-pointers in five games and shot at least 42 percent in each contest. A bit more overall shooting consistency could be an area of improvement. DSA has a lot of players leaving so Tejada could be a major factor.
Monroe County Players:
Issac Holmes – 6’2 guard (215 pounds)
