Ayden Carter Ayden Carter 6'4" | SG Fremont Ross | 2023 State OH , 6’3 SG Fremont Ross 2023 – Hopson Elite 17 U: This was my first-time watching Carter, and he left a very strong opening impression. Carter is a great athlete who threw down some impressive dunks in warm-ups. Carter used his size and quick first step to get around defenders and get to the rim. Carter also possesses advanced court vision with some impressive no-look passes in the game I saw. Outside of a shaky jumper, I didn’t notice any other noticeable flaws in Carter’s game. After a very productive season in the TRAC, it was no surprise that Carter produced at the level he did for Hopson Elite this weekend.
Terrance Pankey Jr Terrance Pankey Jr 6'0" | PG Ursuline | 2023 State OH , 6’0 PG Youngstown Ursuline 2023 – OBC 17 U: Pankey helped lead an unbeaten OBC 17 U squad to some impressive victories in Fort Wayne this weekend. Pankey goes at a million miles an hour and looks like he’s playing harder than pretty much anybody lacing them up on the other side of him. Pankey is mostly known for getting to the rim, but he did make three 3-pointers in one game. With Pankey, Rayquan Thompson Rayquan Thompson 6'0" | PG Solon | 2023 State OH and Justin Wypasek Justin Wypasek 5'10" | PG Strongsville | 2023 State OH , OBC 17 U has a strong trio of guards that makes them tough to beat.
Hosea Steele Hosea Steele 6'4" | SF Richmond Heights | 2024 State OH , 6’3 SF Cleveland Heights 2024 – Ohio Rebels 16 U: Steele’s motor never stops, and his downhill attacking style helped lead the Ohio Rebels past Midwest Basketball Club 3 SSB 16 U in an impressive team performance. Steele is a capable finisher at the rim with both hands and really thrives in transition. I’d like to see more perimeter-based production out of Steele in the future, but his motor, quickness and finishing ability are an intriguing package of skills.
Jonathan Powell Jonathan Powell 6'5" | SG Centerville | 2024 State #164 Nation OH , 6’5 SG Chaminade Juliene 2024 – Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 16 U: Powell showcased his impressive scoring in a variety of ways for Midwest Basketball Club this weekend. Powell is a dangerous shooter from downtown and has the size to pull-up over smaller defenders whenever he wants to. Powell also handled the ball a majority of the time for his team, showcasing his advanced ball-handling skills for a prospect of his size.
Brandon Roddy, 6’1 CG Harvest Prep 2025 – All Ohio Select 15 U: Roddy was dominant in the one game I caught of him this weekend. Whether it was attacking the basket, pulling up from 3-point range or throwing a dime to one of his teammates, Roddy was balling out. I was impressed with Roddy’s feel for the game as he seems very confident with the ball in his hands relative to most other prospects his age. Roddy seems to have taken a small step in the right direction with his outside shooting since the high school season as well, expecting a big Sophomore season for Roddy at Harvest Prep.
