Steele is a pure bucket-getter. He is a tough player to stop in transition or 1 on 1. He is an ultra-shifty guard with elite change of speed ability. He plays with a good controlled pace to his game and has the ball on a string. He had two highlight-level plays of crossing a defender out of the picture and having an outstanding finish. He is a hard player to stop from getting to the rim and once he gets there he has great body control with a good acrobatic ability to finish it, with either hand.

Already a state champion, Steele is a versatile forward who can really create for himself off the bounce and will have a chance to play in a bunch of big games this season with Richmond Heights. With so many opportunities, I expect more coaches to notice Steele this season with his motor and relentless rim pressure.

Richmond Heights had three new faces on this All Ohio 17 U squad and Steele is the first one to highlight. A high energy forward who uses the left to right crossover to attack downhill has made some plays in the limited action he’s seen. Flying around the court for rebounds and using his dribble drive game to set up teammates, Steele has a 7/6 assist to turnover ratio. Knocking down a couple jumpers from the wing and corner, Steele has done his best offensive work in transition and on putbacks.

Steele looks comfortable with his new team after transferring from Cleveland Heights to Richmond Heights. Steele was doing more ball-handling and while he did get ripped a few times, I saw Steele flash some crossover and counter moves I haven’t previously seen him pull off in game action. If Steele can become more of a wing guard, everything else that he does on the floor with rebounding, energy and hustle get amplified even more. I expect Steele to be a high priority Division II recruit next spring and summer.

Steele is a slashing wing forward who joins the defending Division IV state champions who lost some key players but return a stacked 2025 class. Steele will provide some good experience and size to his new squad.

Steele is a prospect who’s versatility and motor make him a threat to produce in any game in any setting. Steele is a unique prospect with impressive change of pace and ball handling for a wing forward. If Steele can continue to improve his jump-shot, his offensive ceiling will grow even higher. Cleveland Heights has a scrappy bunch that should compete for another district title in 2022-23 and Steele fits what they want to do perfectly.
