Derrick Benbow Jr Derrick Benbow Jr 6'3" | CG White Oak | 2024 State NC | 6’2 Guard | Living Water Christian School
from No. 25 to No. 15
Benbow makes a climb into the Top 15 with an impressive performance in the Living Water Christian rotation. He produced 24.2 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.2 apg and 1.4 spg as the featured name in their rotation in 2021-22 as they won conference honors as well as an impressive showing on the national stage with Benbow finishing with 19 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals in his final outing of the season. He’s a name to get to know out of the Jacksonville area.
David Ellis II David Ellis II 6'8" | C Wilson Prep | 2024 State NC | 6’6 Center/Forward | Wilson Prep
from No. 162 to No. 27
Ellis is a budding name to get to know in the Wilson Prep rotation following a strong year in the frontcourt as they made yet another run in the NCHSAA State Playoffs. He was the team’s leading rebounder at 9.3 per contest to go along with 7.3 ppg and 1.0 bpg. He’s a strong, athletic big man with nice upside in the 2024 class. He’s one of the biggest stock risers to know heading into the grassroots season.

from No. 45 to No. 32
Brock was an impressive mover into the No. 32 spot in the 2024 rankings after showing he can run the show at Cape Fear Christian Academy. He ran the show for his squad as he put up 17.8 ppg, 10.8 apg, 3.2 rpg and 2.7 spg as quite the playmaking specialist for the Eagles as they went 15-12 on the season. He shot 42 percent on the season and 34 percent from behind the arc while showing he can get others involved as the lead guard.
Darris Simmons Darris Simmons 5'10" | SG Pine Forest | 2024 NC | 5’10 Shooting Guard | Pine Forest High
from No. 68 to No. 35
Simmons is a young shooting guard prospect with a ton of promise over at Pine Forest High. He averaged 9.0 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 2.1 apg and 1.2 spg while shooting 43 percent from the field and 35 percent (18-of-51) from behind the arc in his sophomore campaign. With some departures in the rotation, he’ll be looked upon to play a big role as he approaches his junior year.
Brandon Anderson Brandon Anderson 6'3" | PG Wilson Prep | 2024 State NC | 6’0 Point Guard | Wilson Prep
from No. 100 to No. 47
Anderson is another prospect coming out of the Wilson Prep rotation with a ton of potential in the class in the backcourt. He’s a wiry 6-foot point guard that posted 13.8 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.0 apg and 1.4 spg as a playmaking and scoring presence in the lineup as they made another run in the NCHSAA Playoffs thanks to his play. At the point guard spot, he’s come on as a more aggressive threat while shooting 52 percent from the floor and 48 percent from 3-point range in his sophomore season.
Kayleb Coles Kayleb Coles 6'6" | PF Wayne Country Day | 2024 State NC | 6’6 Power Forward/Center | Wayne Country Day
from No. 92 to No. 63
Coles is a sizeable name to know in the class who had a productive season in the frontcourt for Wayne Country Day School as they made yet another Final Four in the NCISAA Playoffs. He was quite the presence on the interior and around the rim for his squad. He put up 7.6 ppg, 7.0 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.4 bpg while showing off his skill set as a rim runner and protector in his sophomore campaign. He’s a big man to keep eyes on this grassroots season with Eastern Carolina Phenomz .
