Keep in mind these ranking are based on projection as these players will continue to develop and the Class of 2025 is deep.
#1 6’5 CG JJ Apathjang JJ Apathjang 6'5" | CG Judge Memorial Catholic | 2025 State UT || RSL Academy || 2025 ||
In the summer leading to the start of his freshman year you could see him start to have that attitude and mentality that some of the top players usually have. This season RSL has had to use JJ at the varsity level and he has really put in the work to get his body and his skills right to compete at a high level against some top talent. JJ has improved in all aspects of his game as he has grown a bit he has also increased his shooting ability and he has also developed his slashing game as well. JJ has some major upside and he will have a breakout summer if he just continues to do what he has been doing. Athleticism is getting better as he is maturing as well.
#2 6’5 SF Ike Staley Ike Staley 6'6" | SG Lone Peak | 2025 State UT || Lone Peak High School || 2025 ||
Ike could be 6’7 before you know it. Ike has risen up the original rankings from 10 to 2. Ike is in a unique position as he is getting varsity run in one of the toughest regions in the state as a freshman. Not only is he holding his own against all these talented teams loaded with juniors and seniors he is really being effective. Not afraid of the moment as he will stop and pop a three and he goes down low and bangs with the bigs.
#3 6’2 G John Southwick John Southwick 6'3" | SG Utah Prep | 2025 State #234 Nation UT || Dixie High School || 2025 ||
John has a bag and a motor is the top part of his game. Kid is naturally bouncey and as he is putting in work to get ready for club season he should have a breakout Spring and Summer. Great overall game.
#4 6’4 CG Jason Peterson Jason Peterson 6'4" | CG Bingham | 2025 State UT || Bingham High School || 2025 ||
Jason is a true wing player that can take his players down on the post and work with his back to the basket and he can also turn and face. Jason is fluid going over either shoulder which really helps him keep defenders guessing. In the mid range he is quick and explosive. Early in the season he was playing with pain and opted to get a procedure to limit his pain and he is poised to come back in a few weeks and start up again. Jason has a nice touch from the outside and he has the chance to get to 6’6 + which would make him a versatile player.
#5 6’7 SF Cale Barclay Cale Barclay 6'8" | PF Herriman | 2025 State UT || Herriman High School || 2025 ||
Not only is Cale in the Top 5 he is a major stock riser that starts at a 6A program that is starting to play well with only 1 senior on the team. Ideally Cale is a pick n’ pop big that can stretch the floor with his shooting. He is using his game experience to grow his game. Cale is holding his own against some of the top bigs in the state. Keep an eye on him as he could really turn into a solid college prospect.
