. His ability to impact the game without scoring is unreal. You can run offense through him and he can pick you apart. He can step out and shoot the ball and his mid-post skills are elite. When he plays his true position in college we will see a new side of him.

When you see what Johnson can do on both ends it really makes you excited if you are a Utah Utes fan. He hits a fall-away three on the wing on one end and then he gets back and blocks a 6’10 kid on one end. Gets down the floor and drops a dime and then gets back and hauls ina. rebound and brings the ball up the floor weaving in and out and even going behind the back getting that offense started. This kid can do it all.

Johnson was playing his tail off as he racked up block after block and he was altering shots in the perimeter. The crazy thing about his high level defense was that he did not get into foul trouble all while being very active on the glass and in the paint. The ability to switch from 1-5 at the high school level really is a game changer and that is what Jaxon brings to the table. Excited to see him suit up at the college level when he is ready to play.

Jaxon was dominant this week and ended up averaging 19.8 points per game in matchups against Clovis West (CA), St. Pius X Matthias (CA), Arbor View (NV), and Bishop Gorman (NV). Johnson controls both ends of the court as both the focal point of the Hawks’ offense and the anchor of their defense — he has tremendous awareness, basketball IQ, and the skill to take advantage of his mature understanding of the game. Jaxon impacts the offensive end by being a threat from beyond the arc, by being able to pass over and out of double teams, and by having soft touch in and around the basket. Defensively, he utilizes his length to deter opponents at the rim and make jump shots more difficult.

Jaxon is such a matchup problem because he can go inside as he has that back to the basket foundation, but he has developed that handle and perimeter game very well. He was able to get his shots outside and he is showing why he continues to rise among the top players nationally.

Jaxon continued his all-around dominant week with 17 points, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, and 4 threes on Wednesday afternoon in Alta’s (UT) win over Arbor View (NV) 64-50. Johnson was superb in this one as he contributed all over the court for the Hawks and came out on top in what was a tough matchup with Arbor View forward Pharaoh Compton. Two aspects of Johnson’s game that have stuck out this week have been his smooth 3 point shooting stroke and his ability to effectively pass out of and over double teams.

Jaxon had 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 9 assists on Tuesday night in Alta’s (UT) tough loss to St. Pius x Matthias 81-69. Johnson was terrific on Tuesday afternoon despite the loss as he was all over the glass at both ends, found the open man every time he drew 2 defenders, and showed a soft scoring touch both on the perimeter and in the paint.

The university of Utah signee is having himself a great start to his senior year. not only has he been a walking bucket he is beating anyone and everyone in his way. He had a big time win against a Nationally ranked program. He then went on to beat one of the Top teams in 6A. He has obviously had help but he requires so much effort and energy from the defense that his teammates benefit from his high level play. Last night he took care of Lone Peak and he was attracting so much help and he was making all the right plays. Love the way he has been playing as he does not really force many shots, truly a player that takes what the defense gives him and we are giving him The Player of the Month for November that he earned.
