Super Six
What can you say that hasn’t been said about this swingman Jaxon Johnson Jaxon Johnson 6’8″ | SF Alta | 2024 State #106 Nation UT . His ability to impact the game without scoring is unreal. You can run offense through him and he can pick you apart. He can step out and shoot the ball and his mid-post skills are elite. When he plays his true position in college we will see a new side of him.
Kozlowski might have the most complete game in the class that is ready to translate to the next level. He will likely play the 3 in college where he will have opportunities to line up those long shots and also rebound and score off the bounce. He still has room to improve his game which is very scary.
Lewis is a high volume shooter that when he gets going he is a problem. He can play at the highest level and with weapons around him he is tuff to stop because he sees the floor really well all while staying in attack mode.
Best two way player in the state and it’s not worth arguing. He is an athlete that through an injury improved his outside shooting. Could return from his 2 year church mission and be a PG at The University of Utah.
Might be the best shooter in the class and the way he played at state leads me to believe that Harvard got a steal and he might be able to compete for time on the floor as a freshman. He might have set a few records that willnot be broken.
Lemke is a man among boys, especially running doen the floor and with his back to the basket. He proved that he could do it against anyone. A lot of D1’s wanted him but he opted to go to Snow College which is huge for them.
Fab 5
Athlete that is a gym rat and has the body to compete on one of the best programs in the state at Utah State University. He is explosive and his presence on the floor was a big time change for that Cottonwood team. He will add more to his bag at the college level.
Martin was impressive as he matured through his high school career and added so much to his game. He can really impact the game as a lead guard because he is string and has a strong handle and he can shoot. When he gets downhill he is a load and can finish through contact. Snow will have a lot of lead guards that will be ready to play when their name is called and Martin is one of them.
Might be the steal of the class. This kid is ready to play right away, but his team will have to wait a few years to get him on the floor. Electric in the open floor and the kid can fly. Not just a kid that dunks but he can shoot the rock and he plays with a lot of energy.
Reiser was great at Alta as he was able to showcase his talents and picked up a lot of college interest. He will be great at CSI where he will likely play right away because he has the talent to make it happen. Shifty is the best way to describe the lead PG that can create for himself and others.
Barnes was a WIZARD with the ball all year but watching him pick teams apart like a QB from all over the floor made it seem like he had eyes in the back of his head. The kid knows how to put it on the money.
5 Surprise Prospects
He went from who? to that kid! Shepherd was outstanding and one of the biggest surprises all year ling. It seemed like it was just for a few games that he was having success but he was for real and kept up that high level of play.
The big fella has size and he is mobile. He is a 4 at the right school and the right level. He has moves with the ball in his hands off the bounce. Carter has soft hands and a soft touch around the rim. His ceiling is still high.
He could be one of the better small school gets in the class as he has size and he just knows how to score as a SF. He was solid all year and he played with a chip on his shoulders.
Not sleeping on all the talent out in St.George. Eli was fantastic and he surprised a lot of people with his athleticism and high level of play. He is a player that hunts for shots and he keeps that motor high and his movement off the ball is elite.
Highlights
This kid went from potential, to good to real good quickly this season. He has size and he has some room to develop a lot more of his game. He could be a 3 at the next level the way he can defend and take that ball off the dribble.
Best Stock Risers
McConkie was one of the bests tock risers in the state and not only because of his size but he really did improve his overall skill set. He developed that nice hook and he also but in a lot of work on his footwork. He is going to be a player you need to take a chance on as he is a low risk and high reward player at the next level.
You could see it happening at the club level as he was starting to build that confidence with his perimeter game and although he had to play the 5 a lot at the high school level but he is another player that is likely a 3 in college. He has quick moves and a great spin move as he attacks. Look for his perimeter game to continue to rise as he makes his way to college.
This kid can score the ball. You put him in an open set and let him cook he is going to do just that. Underrated player and athlete for sure. He will be a high level steal at a small school as a lead guard that can score at all three-levels.
Highlights
Kersey was solid all year and his strength at the lead guard position was just too tuff. That has really helped his game rise and his stock rise as well. He played himself up and could nab a spot at the NJCAA level.
IQ is off the charts and he plays with a constant motor. He knows how to move and get into space. He shoots the ball well and is a threat from deep but the way hea reads what the defense is doing allows him to have success in the post and just moving to the basket. Kid is going to be an off the radar steal .
