Here’s a look at some of the top performers we saw from three games – Mountainside over Lake Oswego, Tigard over Wells, and McDaniel over Sunset in the semifinals of the Lakeridge Tournament.
Dimitri Cohen Dimitri Cohen 5'11" | CG Mountainside | 2022 State OR (2022 Mountainside)
Someone at some level of college better start getting on Cohen fast because the way he’s been playing he’d be an outright steal. The 5-foot-11 guard was absolutely unstoppable against Lake Oswego whether it was knocking down step-back threes or getting to the bucket and finishing. Cohen ended up the night with a school-record 38 points and was 10-for-12 from the field with one of those misses a half-court heave at the end of the first half. He’s quick, strong, and skilled and has been a key leader in Mountainside’s 5-0 start prior to the Capitol City Classic.
Dezman Baker Dezman Baker 6'3" | SF Mountainside | 2022 State OR (2022 Mountainside)
Baker didn’t put up particularly huge numbers against Lake Oswego – 6 points and 8 rebounds – but it was the way he put up those stats that was impressive. He was key with the work he did on the offensive glass and the points he scored were within the framework of the offense and showed off the work he’s put into his jumpshot this summer.
Winters Grady Winters Grady 6'7" | SF Prolific Prep | 2025 #118 Nation CA-N (2025 Lake Oswego)
Grady has a nice blend of size and skill and while it was late in the game when the result had already been decided in Mountainside’s favor, he put together a number of good offensive possessions. The 6-foot-6 freshman used his body and dribble to create getting to the hoop and either finished or drew contact to get to the free throw line.
Malik Brown Malik Brown 6'0" | PG Tigard | 2023 State OR (2023 Tigard)
Brown flirted with a triple-double with 22 points, 6 rebounds, and 7 assists against Wells. He looked very sharp with his jumper and his ability to beat defenders off the dribble led to some easy drive and dish assists to open teammates. Brown always plays with good motor and that helped him get the number of rebounds he grabbed.
Kalim Brown Kalim Brown 6'0" | CG Tigard | 2023 State OR (2023 Tigard)
While it wasn’t a monster night, Brown continued his scoring tear this season with a solid 19 points against Wells. His jump shot wasn’t clicking as much as it has been, so he made the effort to get to the hoop where he got fouled often – and he converted his chances at the line. He’s averaging over 24 ppg so far this year, one of the top marks in all of 6A.
Douglas Bailey Douglas Bailey 6'3" | SF Tigard | 2023 State OR (2023 Tigard)
Bailey has one of the sweeter strokes from the perimeter we’ve seen and he’s got the catch-and-shoot stuff down pat. The 6-foot-3 guard was money in the first half against Wells, knocking down five threes with a couple of them feet beyond the line. The defense made adjustments in the second half so he didn’t get many looks, but that simply opened things up for his teammates.
Leo Sewell Leo Sewell 5'9" | PG Wilson | 2022 State OR (2022 Wells)
One of 6A’s top assist guys the past two seasons, we’ve joked with Sewell that he needs to regain his assist title back after dropping to #2 last year. The truth is the senior is taking on more of a scoring role this year and that was evident against Tigard with 21 points. He hit threes but also scored on a number of pull-ups and drives to the hoop, which was key for Wells to stay within striking distance.
Nick Digiulio Nick Digiulio 5'9" | PG West Linn | 2024 State OR (2024 Wells)
DiGiulio could have one of the quickest releases we’ve seen in the state. The ball leaves his hands so quickly on the catch-and-shoot that the defense has barely any time to react. He was also solid shooting from deep off the move and ended up hitting five threes and scoring a team-high 22 points.
Elijah Martin Elijah Martin 6'4" | SF Franklin | 2023 State OR (2023 McDaniel)
Martin has a nice blend of size at 6-foot-4, strength, and athleticism for a swingman and he earned his 15 points at all three levels. He posted up strong and scored inside, created a bit off the dribble, and also knocked down three threes.
Moses Farmer (2022 McDaniel)
His college future may be in football, but Farmer’s athleticism is well utilized on the basketball squad. Against Sunset, his stroke from the outside was evident as he calmly hit threes in the second half. He ended up sinking four total while also using his length to help out on the boards.
Jalen Childs Jalen Childs 6'3" | PG Beaverton | 2023 State OR (2023 Sunset)
The key guy that can get buckets for himself for Sunset is Childs, who woke up from a quiet first half to really put the team on his back in the second. The 6-foot-3 guard nailed a couple of threes but also used his herky-jerky dribble moves to create space into the lane and his athleticism to finish around the rim.
