Continue ReadingThe Junior class rankings have expanded all the way out to nearly 130 players already. This is possibly the best class of prospects since Prep Hoops Kentucky launched. A dozen prospects already have D1 offers and twice that many could have D1 offers a year from now. Here’s a look at the biggest risers in the updated 2023 Rankings.
Evan Ipsaro Evan Ipsaro 5'11" | PG Covington Catholic | 2023 State KY , Covington Catholic (33–>9) – Because he plays high school games in northern Kentucky and plays AAU in Indiana, there hasn’t been a ton of opportunity to evaluate Evan but he was part of a dominant Indiana Elite 16u team this summer and earned 2 D1 offers in July. Ipsaro should be the driving force behind any chance Covington Catholic has to win state in 2022.
Jack Edelen Jack Edelen 5'9" | PG Male | 2023 State KY , Male (27–>16) – The thing about rankings is if you miss a season due to injury, your ranking drops. When you’re healthy and back on the court, the rankings goes back up. After missing his Sophomore season at Ballard, Edelen transferred to Male and had a very good July. Look for him to be one of the top guards in Louisville and could help lift Male back to Rupp.
Tim Fuller II Tim Fuller II 6'6" | SF Ballard | 2023 State KY , Ballard (Unranked –>24) – Welcome back to Kentucky, Tim Fuller. After a short trip to Georgia, Tim is back and enrolled at Ballard now. A 6’6 wing, Fuller can shoot it well and has gotten more athletic over the last year or so since he has stopped growing. He should be a big piece for the Bruins this season.
Marcus Eaves Marcus Eaves 6'4" | SF North Hopkins | 2023 State KY , Hopkins County Central (52–>38) – One of the best players at our Top 250 expo last month, Eaves is on the short list of best college prospects in regions 1-4 in the class of 2023. He’s an athletic wing who is improving his overall skill set and as a shooter.
Micah Engle Micah Engle 6'5" | PG Lynn Camp | 2022 KY , Lynn Camp (Unranked –>52) – Moving from 2022 to 2023, Engle gives himself another year to develop and help his recruiting. When his motor is running, Micah is a top player in the 13th region. He’s a high level scorer with good size and has scholarship level potential.
Anthony Lawrence Anthony Lawrence 5'10" | PG Western | 2023 State KY , Western (65–>56) – A “foxhole guy”, Lawrence is a bulldog guard who can make the opposition miserable over the course of 32 minutes. Ant doesn’t force much offense but is a capable scorer, especially when he can get downhill and get paint touches.
