Ahlante Askew, 6-foot-1 guard, Sho-Me Assault, Republic HS (pictured):
Askew is a long, athletic point guard. He is smooth and smart with the ball, scoring and distributing in just the right amounts. He drives and hits a nice floater, or attacks all the way to the rim. His size and athleticism make him a force at the defensive end, particularly as a long on-ball defender.
Zak’ye Parrot, 6-foot-2 forward, PHHNE, Burke HS:
Parrot can play as an undersized post, or as a powerful wing. He’s strong in the lane, making powerful moves through contact. He can face the goal and put the ball on the floor, or he can post up, even against taller defenders. He’s athletic and works hard.
Devan Rush, 6-foot-2 guard, Rush Academy, O’Fallon HS:
A long guard/wing, Rush has a pull-up jumper clear out beyond the arc. He makes plays and gets teammates involved, pushing the ball ahead and looking up court, or driving into the lane and finding a teammate. He has a flair for the creative and can really get up. He’s a force on the boards at both ends, too.
Nasir Whitlock, 6-foot-1 guard, Gain Elite Minnesota, DeLaSalle HS:
Unfazed by on-ball pressure, Whitlock is a well-built, physical guard. He uses his body to protect the ball from defenders. Whitlock ran the show for Gain Elite, setting up his teammates with drives into the lane and with smart movement of the ball around the perimeter. He has a nice floater and is effective driving to the hole.
Price Wyatt, 6-foot-2 forward, State 38 Basketball, Fossil Ridge HS:
A well-rounded and athletic wing, Wyatt was a solid scorer for State 38 all weekend. He showed he spot up for mid-range jumpers, can take a defender off the dribble, and can catch and score in the lane. He demonstrated good ball handling, particularly a couple of times when he stole the ball and took it end to end. He looks to be a good passer and defender as well.
