Weekend AAU Recap (FREE)

While it was Derby weekend in Louisville and much of the state was taking the weekend off, some programs did play AAU this weekend. Here’s a quick rundown of results. These were the results reported to our Prep Hoops Kentucky Twitter. If your favorite team or player didn’t submit anything, it can’t be reported.

UpNext went 4-1 at the Down South Classic in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. They were led by  Jabrion Spikes Jabrion Spikes 6'1" | SG Caldwell County | 2022 State KY , Jaheim Barry and Olajuwon White.

Griffin Elite Q went 2-3 overall at the Run N Slam, losing in the semifinals of the bronze bracket.  Justin Becker Justin Becker 6'6" | SF Robertson County | 2022 State KY  had a 30 point game on Friday night while  Darien Lewis Darien Lewis 6'1" | PG Fern Creek | 2022 State KY  added multiple good games.

Kentucky Select Blue went 4-0 and won the Butler County Super Regional. Ryan Davis was the go to scorer for Select.

Kentucky Select White finished 3-1 and the only loss was to the Select Blue team.  Quantez Calloway Quantez Calloway 6'1" | PG Holmes | 2021 State KY led the team in scoring and rebounding while Liam Singer had a solid weekend.

UpNext went 5-0 and won the championship at the Down South Classic.  Kenyata Carbon Kenyata Carbon 6'1" | SG Owensboro | 2023 State KY was named MVP of the tournament and Daisjuan Mercer and Marcus Eaves played well all weekend.

Griffin Elite Hardewig won the Bill Hensley Run N Slam in Fort Wayne, going 6-0 on the weekend and improving to 18-0 overall.  Teagan Moore Teagan Moore 6'4" | SF Owen County | 2023 State KY  was the weekend MVP as he averaged 15 points and 9 rebounds per game.  Landen Hamilton Landen Hamilton 5'11" | CG Conner | 2023 State KY , Caleb Brooks Caleb Brooks 6'9" | C Cooper | 2023 State KY , Ryan Rose Ryan Rose 6'8" | C Johnson Central | 2023 State KY and Aden Burnett all had strong showings for the Champs.

Griffin Elite Rogers lost in the platinum bracket at the Run N Slam.  Reece Potter Reece Potter 6'11" | C Lexington Catholic | 2023 State #212 Nation KY  had a good weekend while his Lex Cath teammate  Hudson Sparks Hudson Sparks 6'5" | SF Lexington Catholic | 2023 State KY had a 19 point outing on Friday night.  Dallas Roberts Dallas Roberts 6'1" | PG North Oldham | 2023 State KY also had a 19 point game on the weekend while  Terrell Henry Terrell Henry 6'2" | SF Mason County | 2023 State KY put up 16 in a Saturday game.

Kentucky Select Blue went 4-1 and won the tournament at the BW3 Super Regional. Philip Bierley of Mason County had games of 14 and 17 rebounds while Mason Guffey averaged 15 points and 4.5 rebounds for Select.

Kentucky Select White went 1-2 but lost both games by only 3 points. Dalton Kramer and Carter Gabbert both played well.

UpNext went 4-1 and lost the championship game at the Down South Classic.  Gavin Grubbs Gavin Grubbs 6'1" | CG University Heights Academy | 2024 State KY had a 31 point game while Ja’Sean Riley and Jonah Butler had good weekends for their squad.

Griffin Elite Hatton finished 3-1 and lost in the Platinum Bracket at the Run N Slam.  Vince Dawson Vince Dawson 6'6" | SF Great Crossing | 2025 State #327 Nation KY , Kaydon Custard Kaydon Custard 6'2" | PG Harrison County | 2024 State KY and Jasper Johnson Jasper Johnson 6'5" | PG Overtime Elite | 2025 #15 Nation MO  all had high scoring games while Konner Centers, Brayden Mirus Brayden Mirus 6'1" | PG Rowan County | 2024 State KY and Hudson Blank Hudson Blank 6'2" | SF Dixie Heights | 2024 State KY all were big time contributors. 

Kentucky Select Blue went 3-2 and won the Silver Bracket at the AAU Butler County Super Regional. Andrew Reis and Carson Reinersman led a balanced scoring attack. 

Kentucky Select White went 2-2 for the weekend. Eli Newman and Ryan Hartman shined for their squad.
