Steve Quattrocchi | Prep Hoops Scout
Holding offers as a point guard and a quarterback, Custard has been one of the best two sport stars in the state for his career. Kaydon nearly carried Harrison County to Rupp Arena before a buzzer beater from Campbell County knocked them off.

Custard was simply unbelievable against Mason County. There was no way he was letting them lose this game as he was involved in just about every scoring play. He was relentless getting to the basket no matter who they put on him. He shot a game high 11 free throws as he did a great job getting to the rim and drawing contact. He has such an all around game that you have to guard him on the perimeter because he is a good shooter and he proved that tonight. Custer has the ability and motor to will this Harrison team to Rupp Arena tomorrow.

Custard is a two sport star who holds college scholarship offers in football but is equally capable of making an impact in college on the basketball court. He’s currently slowed by a broken hand but Kaydon will be a difference maker when 10th region tournament time rolls around.

Custard is a dual sport athlete who could end up playing football in college if he doesn’t sign to play point guard for someone. A hard nosed player, Kaydon doesn’t back down from guarding the best player on the opposing team, regardless of position. His ultimate college sport remains to be seen but the 6’2 guard should find his way on to a college roster one way or another.

Kaydon is one of those players who takes multiple viewings to appreciate all that he does to impact winning for his team. Coming off a weekend where he helped Moss Elite make a run at the NY2LA tournament, Custard saved some of his best AAU games for last and proved that he’s more than worthy of a shot as a scholarship guard in college.

Right behind Jackson, Custard had 15 points in the Moss win over Stinebruner. Kaydon also had 15 in the Moss win over Kentucky Rise in their first game. A two sport star, Kaydon can make an impact at the next level in either sport.

Custard really caught the Kentucky high school scenes eye this past year averaging just under 17 ppg and leading Harrison County to the second round in the 10th region tournament. Like many players on this list, he is playing with an all time confidence scoring the basketball and I foresee him continuing that this summer. I think with his skill set and size, I wouldn’t be surprised if college coaches at all levels makes him a priority.

Kaydon is a strong guard and a three sport athlete who is likely to have opportunities at the next level in multiple sports. Custard is a three level scorer on the court and a good passer who takes pride in his individual defense. While he could end up a quarterback in college, Custard should definitely be expected to be a scholarship athlete at the next level.

Custard is a bit of a matchup nightmare for teams as he is too strong for guards to defend but too quick for big men. He is great driving the ball and playing thru contact. Has great feel in the post when he posts up guards, especially knowing when to pass. Has great vision and finds open teammates. Can score at all three levels, but he is at his best driving the ball, getting offensive rebounds and taking advantage of the mismatches he creates.
