Class 1A – Region 2 Preview

<p>This region for me will be a interesting one this year with just 4 teams competing. The region will be a bit of mystery outside the top spot that’s for sure. I honestly say this is like the Bermuda Triangle for me also. I will need to see some of these teams this coming season. </p>
<p><em><strong>Predictions: </strong></em></p>
<p><strong>Great Falls HS</strong> - The Red Devils fresh off a Class 1A State Championship last season will have little troubles here this season. The Red Devils return the Preseason Player of the Year in <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="865297" first="Tydriez" last="Coleman"].</strong> The Red Devils will have several new faces on the roster for Head Coach Alex Fair this season. </p>
<p><strong>CA Johnson HS - </strong> The Green Hornets are located in downtown Columbia. </p>
<p><strong>McBee HS - </strong>The Panthers lost big man [player_tooltip player_id="751293" first="Devon" last="Bristow"] to graduation. </p>
<p><strong>Lewisville HS - </strong>The Rockets will to try and get back to its winning ways like years before. </p>
<p><strong>Governors School (Hartsville)</strong> - Will not have a team this coming season. </p>

<p><strong>Desmond Martin (2021) - CA Johnson HS </strong></p>
<p>Martin currently is having a big football season as Wide Receiver / Defensive Back. Martin has really piled up some numbers over his career on the gridiron for the Green Hornets. </p>

<p>Coleman is a bouncy and very athletic forward who saw great minutes last season as a freshman. Coleman runs the floor very well and is quick off his feet with his leaping ability. Coleman averaged 11 ppg and 10 rebounds last season. Coleman is ranked #4 in the Palmetto State 2023 Class. </p>
