Every season, new stars emerge and reshape the landscape of South Carolina high school basketball. This year's Class A group is full of players ready to break out as they step into bigger roles, sharpen their skills, and put their schools in the mix for a state championship. Here are six players who could do just that this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2566637' first='Malik' last='White'] (CA Johnson) - The first potential breakout 1A player is [player_tooltip player_id='2566637' first='Malik' last='White']. Despite being just an 8th Grader, White is very gifted physically and should get the opportunity to display his skillset with the Hornets playing a non-region competitive schedule. Malik will earn minutes with his defensive ability as he develops into a consistent scoring option.

[player_tooltip player_id='2013289' first='Jayden' last='Crawford'] (Green Sea Floyds) - Jayden was named Preseason All-Region 6 thanks to an impressive Freshman Season where he led the Trojans with 11.7 Points Per Game. Crawford and company were above .500 last season and return four of their top five scorers, so if Jayden takes a step, Green Sea Floyds could make a run in February.

[player_tooltip player_id='3026270' first='Ethan' last='Morris'] (Carvers Bay) - Another Class A Region 6 player who is ready to break out this season is Morris. At 6'3", Ethan has solid size for his age and has the ability to score inside and out, which is a valuable asset for any team. Keep an eye on Morris to start turning some heads in his Sophomore Season and help push the Bears to a Region Championship.

[player_tooltip player_id='2982276' first='Isaiah' last='Wright'] (Cross) - With several departed Seniors and the potential for their best player to early enroll for College Football, the Cross Trojans desperately need a new face to step up. That face could be Isaiah, who put up 6.4 Points Per Game, 3.0 Assists Per Game, and 3.4 Steals Per Game as a Freshman, followed by a strong AAU Season with Team HighStar.

[player_tooltip player_id='2420843' first='Christian' last='Rivera'] (Denmark-Olar) - Rivera is in a good situation to step up in his Junior Season. Denmark-Olar had all five starters graduate last spring, and Christian showed good signs of development on film and at the Prep Hoops SC Showcase. Those signs include progression with his decision-making, as well as increased efficiency as a jump shooter.

[player_tooltip player_id='3026271' first='Gunnar' last='Brigman'] (McBee) - Rounding out the list of potential breakout players in Class A this season is [player_tooltip player_id='3026271' first='Gunnar' last='Brigman']. Brigman is an intriguing Forward for the new-look McBee Panthers, a team I was very impressed with in June. Gunnar has decent size to produce around the rim at both ends of the floor and is one of the reasons why I have the Panthers as my dark horse team this year.
