The 17U and 16U divisions were deep with teams and prospects and the younger divisions had some really good performances as well.
Here is a look at some of the standout performers I saw.
Massai Graham Massai Graham 6'5" | SF Bishop Timon | 2022 | 6-7 | NEBC/New York Tapestry Charter
Graham earned an offer on Monday from Iona after he averaged 22.0 PPG, 12.0 RPG and 4.0 BPG playing up this past weekend for NEBC 17U. The 2022 forward is bouncy as can be, has a jumper to continue to build up and projects as a four at the next level as long as he gets a little stronger. He was active all weekend long and is simply a fluid athlete. With two more years of high school ball, Graham is going to be a prospect to monitor closely.
Aidan Shaw Aidan Shaw 6'7" | SF Blue Valley | 2022 State #40 Nation KS | 6-8 | Mokan Select/Kansas Blue Valley
Playing up with Mokan Select 17U, Shaw settled in nicely. The lengthy forward is a bully on the boards, plays with so much contagious energy and is not afraid to use every inch of his 6-8 frame. Our No. 50 ranked national prospect in the 2022 class is not lean by any view and has a strong game around him already. Iowa State, Wake Forest, Creighton and Wichita State have all offered since June. Shaw is dripping with upside and his top assets are already on full display.
Brian Taylor Brian Taylor 6'4" | PG DeSmet | 2022 State MO | 6-3 | Gateway Basketball Club/Missouri De Smet
My first glimpse of Taylor was a good one on the floor. I saw a leader, floor pusher and a gifted shooter in the 2022 class. I was taking notes of his mature and athletic game but before I could even look up again, he was on the other end finishing inside with a variety of lay-ins and jumpers. Against the PLUTO Prospects on Sunday in the 16U Division, he was reliable as a ballhandler and showed that he’s always active offensively with or without the ball.
Caleb Campbell | 6-3 | Grind and Advance/Arkansas Hot Springs
Against Mokan Select on Sunday afternoon, I came away very intrigued by Campbell. He came on in the second half. The speedy 2021 guard had a strong push offensively and proved to be a sneaky fast playmaker. I love his ability to weave past a defense. Arkansas State and Oral Roberts have both offered and I expect more to come for the senior. He’s simply a gamer.
Raul Nunez Raul Nunez 6'4" | CG Choctaw | 2021 State OK | 6-4 | Oklahoma Hustle Black/Choctaw
I heard great things about Nunez before watching him play this weekend. He has really nice size and fluid ballhandling skills for a bigger point guard. His length shows up on every play as he drives to the rack and dishes it out with smarts. Nunez certainly can shoot the ball well and his pace is steady. His vision is what separates him and I think colleges will be super happy if they land him to lead the charge.
Tayon Sessoms | 6-1 | Colorado Soldiers/George Washington
For the Colorado Soldiers, Sessoms was playing with endless poise. The 2021 guard was as steady as they come in a Sunday tilt with Sky Ice Elite. He’s a bonafide leader, crafty finisher and a very intense on-ball defender. Sessoms doesn’t take plays off and it sets a very good precedent for his teammates.
