Under-Recruited Seniors to Watch

This season a whole host of seniors will be looking not only to help lead their teams to the state tournament, but also perform to a level that will attract the attention of college coaches. While some members of the Class of 2020 have a number of schools watching them this year, there are some others that remain off the radar for some reason of another. Here are some guys who are a bit under-recruited so far that deserve more of a look these next few months.

George Sadi, De La Salle North

Once you get back the fact he may be a bit undersized at 5-foot-9, Sadi is a big-time athlete who can really get hot scoring the ball. The former soccer standout is built like a tank and has explosiveness getting to the basket but also has the ability as a streak shooter from three-point land. Sadi has been working on his point guard skills and would be a great pickup as high as the D-II level as he tries to lead De La Salle North to a third straight 3A title.

Joe Juhala, West Linn

Juhala has the size at almost 6-foot-8, 225 pounds, the athleticism to finish at the rim, and the ability to step out and hit three-pointers. This summer he worked hard on becoming a better rebounder and while it's true he's still trying to put everything together while truly learning a feel for the game, the potential is there to be a contributor at the college level. Also a good student, there's no question that Juhala is a high-level D-III prospect at the very least.

Cobee Crawford, Benson

There are certain guys you can count on to get buckets, and Crawford is one of those guys. Sure, he lacks premium size for a scoring guard at 6-foot but the senior knows how to score and can do so at all three levels. Crawford has also been working on his point guard skills and will get an opportunity to showcase more of them this upcoming year at Benson. Another great student, he'd be a great get for a D-III school but he could look at JC programs with the intent of developing into a D-II prospect.

Kobe Withers, Sprague

Withers isn't flashy but he simply gets the job done. The 6-foot combo guard's specialty is the mid-range jumper and he is proficent at stopping on a dime off the dribble and nailing it. Withers is hard-nosed on defense and is capable of leading an offense when called upon as well. Yet another great student, there's no doubt that D-III programs should be all over him or he could head the JC route toward his goal of getting a scholarship from a four-year school.

DeRay Seamster, Central Catholic

A bit undersized for a shooting guard, Seamster worked hard on his point guard skills over the summer to the point where he can now be considered a true combo. The 6-foot-2 senior can score in a variety of ways, finish at the rim, and really make an impact as an individual defender with his quickness and wingspan. He'll really get a chance to shine as a senior this year at Central Catholic and some of the D-II schools currently taking a cursory look at him may need to intensify their efforts on the recruiting trail.

Emanuel Steward, Grant

Shooting is always a sought-after skill and that's something Steward has been always been capable of doing. The 6-foot-3 senior was once just a catch-and-shoot guy but now he's become more capable of creating off the dribble as well. What might be most intriguing about Steward is that he's physically a late bloomer and is just now starting to grow into his body. While he may not be necessarily ready for something like the D-II immediately, there's no question he has that potential especially with a strong senior season.
