10: Ralston Valley
Ralston Valley is a sleeper team for me this year, they started their first week going 2-0. This is a good team who knows how to play together. Leading the team is point guard Caden Gigstad, he is a true floor general who can lead this team to some wins. They also have a good big down low in Caleb Rillos, who had an impressive stat line in his first game with 22 points, 15 rebounds, and 4 assist. 13 of those rebounds where offensive which is very impressive. Watch out for this team to battle to be the top team in the Jeffco conference.
9: Cherry Creek
Cherry Creek started off the season 2-1, only loosing to a solid Fruita Monument team in overtime. This team is only going to improve from here on out. With there football team just coming off a win in the 5A state championship this weekend, they will be bringing in 5 football players onto the team who missed this first week of basketball. Of those there are two star junior guards who lead the team to an elite eight appearance. They are Myles Purchase and Julian Hammond, Myles is a true point guard who is an ultra athlete and Julian has earned a D1 basketball offer from DU and is one of the best Quaterbacks in the state. Watch out for this team to improve once these football players get oriented into the lineup.
8: Smoky Hill
Smoky Hill started off with a rough start with a loss to Highlands Ranch but came back and beat a solid Thunderridge team. This team is one of the most talented teams in the state and that alone will be enough to beat a lot of teams. This team will be lead by Quentin Rock and Jalen Weaver, Quentin Rock is a four year varsity player who can lead this young team. Then Jalen Weaver who is currently ranked the number one junior in our rankings, he is super athletic and just picked up another D1 offer from Montana State University. This team seems like they need sometime to find there identity and playing style but once they do watch out.
7: Eaglecrest
Eaglecrest had a good first week going 2-0. This team has a very good front court that will give many teams problems. They have the 2nd best junior in our rankings in Ty Robinson who this year is looking to take a leading scorers role. Then they have senior point guard Zion Ruckard who is looking to lead this team to a great season. Then to finish out the backcourt they have Skylar Wilson who is someone who has hopped onto the radar with a huge summer and is looking for a huge year.
6: Denver East
East started off the season winning the Fossil Ridge tournament. They have the number one sophomore in our rankings in Langston Reynolds, who has started off the season averaging 24.3 points per game. He also has classmate Quis Davis who has stepped up this year. They also have D1 product in Boston Stanton who is starting the season averaging 22 points. Watch out for this young talented team.
