The biggest question for the Raiders will be if they are able to replace the scoring that seniors: Jadaun Dotson (12.5 PPG) and Quincey Jewett (15.6 PPG, 12 RPG), provided during the title run last year. Other than that, Rangeivew will return a strong core of players who are hungry for the opportunity to show they’re ready to step up to the challenge this year in defending the title with a very competitive 5A conference this year.
PG: Christopher Speller – Sr.
After a very solid junior year, Christopher will look to build off of his: 11.5 PPG, 3.4 RPG and 3.6 APG. Speller has the ability to take over games especially inside the three-point arc, shooting 65 percent from inside the arc last year. Combine that with shooting over one-hundred foul attempts last year, he has the chance to jump into the top scorer role that Jewett provided for them last year.
SF/PF: Christian Speller – Sr.
Christian has the opportunity to take a huge jump in his senior season. During his junior campion he averaged: 8.4 PPG, 4.4 RPG, and 2.3 APG. A gifted athlete, Speller is able to get to the rim and finish at will but is a team player who has great vision when attacking the rim and will find the open guy. Christian is starting to get the attention he deserves and many believe should have the best season of his career coming up. Speller isn’t afraid to stretch the floor with shooting eighty-one threes last season at twenty-eight percent. If he can start knocking those down with a little more consistency, his game will be very hard to defend.
SG: Cade Palmer – Jr.
When talking about the top shooters in the state, it’s hard not to mention his name. Playing in twenty-eight games last year as a sophomore, Palmer is no stranger to the big stage. Last year he averaged 7.6 PPG while shooting forty-two percent from behind the arc. Cade get’s it done on both sides of the court, playing hard and with a sense of urgency and heart. With all the playmakers surrounding him, Palmer is due for a big junior year.
Wing/Post: Obi Agbim – Sr.
When talking about playmakers and athletes on Rangeview, you can’t go without mentioning Obi and what he brings to the team. Agbim has the capability to be a lock-down defender which creates easy offense on the other end for him which include his highlight dunks. Last year he avaegred 5.9 PPG and 2.1 RPG, I wouldn’t be surprised if those both doubled his senior year. He knows his role on the team and does a great job providing energy and instant offense when needed, shooting thirty-nine percent from three, on seventy-one attempts last year.
Others of note returning from last years title team:
PG: Isaiah Jamison – Sr. – Twenty-two games played: 12 MPG, 2.8 PPG, 1.5 RPG, 1.3 APG
PF: Jayden Foster – Jr. – Twenty-one games played: 5.8 MPG, 1.6 PPG, 1.7 RPG
G: Jovaughn Wright – Sr. – Sixteen games played: 3.4 MPG, 1.4 PPG, 1.0 RPG
Wing/Post: Damajio Merritt – Jr. – Six games played: 2.8 MPG, 1.8 PPG, 1.3 RPG
