With conference play underway, let’s take a look at the 11th- through 15th-leading rebounders in Colorado’s Class 3A.
11. Raul Loya, 6-1, SG/PG, The Pinnacle, 2019, 9.4 rpg
A dual-sport athlete, Loya got off to a great start to this winter’s basketball season with averages of 13.8 points and 9.4 rebounds through five games. He also averaged 2.4 steals, 4.2 assists and 2.0 blocks at just 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds.
12. Zach Schlichting, 6-3, G/F, Kent Denver, 2019, 9.2 rpg
Ranked No. 5 in Class 3A by the latest CHSAANow.com poll, the Sun Devils rely heavily on this guy to produce in a number of ways. So far in 2018-19, Schlichting has risen to the challenge and is averaging a solid 7.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.3 steals per game for his 11-1 squad.
13. Kevin DiMarco, 6-8, F/C, Coal Ridge, 2019, 9.0 rpg
At 6-foot-8, there’s no missing this kid in the gym. With the Coal Ridge Titans ranked sixth in 3A, DiMarco is literally and figuratively right in the middle of his team’s thus-far successful game plan. Through the first 12 games of his senior season, DiMarco is averaging 16.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 1.3 steals and 2.6 blocks per game.
14. Ryan Ure, 6-4, F/G, Eaton, 2021, 8.9 rpg
Another sophomore who is cleaning the glass for his team this year, Ure is bringing down 8.9 rebounds per game. He’s also scoring 7.4 points a night for the Reds as he continues to come into his own as a basketball player.
15. Andrew Pippen, 6-2, G/F, Skyview, 2019, 8.7 rpg
Hustle is the name of this guy’s game. Pippen is seemingly always down to do the dirty work for the Skyview boys this winter. He’s scoring 6.9 points, but more importantly, he’s averaging 8.7 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.7 steals per game for the Hawks.
