11. Caleb Stockton, 5-10, G, Colorado Springs Christian, 2021, 4.4 apg
Stockton is the second Colorado Springs Christian player on this list. But unlike senior teammate Mateo Mendoza (No. 6), Stockton is just getting started on his prep career. Following up a very stolid freshman year in 2017-18, Stockton is averaging 13.3 points, 4.4 assists, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 steals through the first 12 games of his sophomore campaign.
12. Sam Howery, 5-9, G, St. Mary’s, 2022, 4.4 apg
St. Mary’s is off to an 11-4 start and has Howery to thank, in part, for that. That part includes 13.9 points, 4.4 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 3.3 steals from a 5-foot-9 freshman. That’s now two underclassmen in Part III of this list. Things are getting interesting.
13. Jackson Romero, 5-11, G, Resurrection Christian, 2020, 4.4 apg
We’re three players into Part III and still no seniors. This 5-foot-11 junior scores 11.5 points a night and also contributes 4.4 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game. Romero has also been a model of consistency and his averages are indicative of what he brings to the floor every night, and not inflated by a handful of statistical outburst against weaker opponents.
14. Eddy Ferrara, 5-11, G, St. Mary’s, 2019, 4.3 apg
Teammates with Howery just two spots ahead of him on this list, Ferrara and Howery provide great examples of the St. Mary’s players’ unselfishness, ball movement and passing ability. He’s averaging 4.3 assists, 3.4 rebounds, 2.4 steals and is scoring 12.5 points per game. Many of those likely come via an assist considering the St. Mary’s team averages 19.2 assists a night.
15. Michael Brooks, 5-6, G, DSST: Stapleton, 2019, 4.0 apg
Even at 5-foot-6, Brooks still finds a way to get the job done for his club. Scoring 7.1 points per game, Brooks’ job usually entails doing other things like averaging 4.0 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 3.2 steals.
