Coastal Carolina University Team Camp
Prep Hoops SC took in the action from the Coastal Carolina University Team Camp this week. Here is a look at a few players from the Bluegrass State that stood out in the camp.
J.J. Ramey (2019) – South Laurel HS (London) (pictured on front)
Ramey is ranked #17 in the 2019 Kentucky Prep Hoops State Rankings. Ramey is very athletic and bouncy. Ramey finishes in traffic very well while attacking the basket. Ramey makes open shots and has the ability to slash to the basket. Ramey told Prep Hoops he has heard from Belmont, Furman and Wright State to name just a few schools.
Ramey plays with the Charlotte Court on the AAU Circuit.
Noah Back (2019) – Perry County Central HS (Hazard)
Back is a SHOOTER be aware whenever he’s on the floor. Back averaged 17.7 ppg this season for the Commodores. Back won’t pass the look the test but, I guess that really doesn’t mean nothing because he delivers results. Back played today in the Coastal Carolina University Elite Camp after his high school departed for home. Back played here last summer with his Perry County Central HS team.
Wade Pelphrey (2021) – Hazard HS
Pelphrey 5’10 point guard is a true leader on the floor for the Bulldogs. Pelphrey plays very poised for his young age Pelphrey really sees the floor well and never seemed to turn the ball over. Pelphrey averaged 11.7 ppg and 3 rebounds this past season for the Bulldogs.
Rylee Samons (2022) – Floyd Central HS (Langley)
Samons 6’5 left-handed guard has uncanny court vision for just entering the 9th grade this coming fall. Samons is a very deceptive athlete on the floor. Samons attacked the rack at times this week and also knocked down shots on the perimeter. Samons is a very deceptive athlete.
