Five Takeaways: Lincoln County vs. Boyle County
Lincoln County High School visited Boyle County High School Wednesday night in a battle between 12 Region foes and heated rivals. For a number of years now, LCHS and BCHS have had some BATTLES between each other. Prep Hoops Kentucky gives you our five takeaways from last nights game.
1.) Lincoln County’s Chase Phillips did everything he could to give the Patriots a chance to win the game – the senior guard finished with 27 points on the night, but 14 of them came in the 4th quarter and 8 points in the last two minutes of play.
2.) Jason Alexander started off red hot – Alexander had 11 points in the first half and had to be cooled off in the second half, where the Patriots held him to just 4 points. It was just enough early to give the Rebels the win. Alexander finished the night as the Rebels leading scorer.
3.) Boyle’s Reece Smith got going in the second half – Not scoring a basket in the first, Smith scored 13 points in the second, being aggressive and getting to the foul line (where he scored 9)
4.) Credit Lincoln’s defense – for also allowing them to stay in the game and have a chance. Holding Alexander to 4 points in the second half and holding Boyle County’s leading scorer Bryce Slone (17.6) to 8 on the night.
5.) This is always a fun game to watch – and for many one of the best rivalries in the 12 Region.
