Prospect Watch: Antonio Norton (2018)
Six-foot-5 forward Antonio Norton is part of key talent returning to Dakota Ridge and his expectations are high.
Norton gave his team 11 points and nearly seven boards a game last year shooting nearly 50 percent from the field, 71 percent from the foul line, and 37 percent at the arc.
It was an excellent all around season so Norton joined up with one of the better Colorado club teams and has a nice summer as he prepped for his final high school season.
“I played with Colorado Premier 17U,” Norton said. “Junior year was good to grow as a team and we’re coming into this year with four returning starters. I’m working on improving on my shot and ball handling to be a threat in all aspects of the game.”
Norton is the top player turning for Dakota Ridge but one of several with experience.
“We have four returning starters and we expect every game to be competitive including our games against some of the top teams in the state,” Antonio said.
“As a team we feel we should win our league and be able to make a late season push in the playoffs. My individual goal is average a double-double.”
At his size and the numbers he’s putting up Norton will have the chance to play college hoops. Antonio said there is “nothing set for college at this point”.
