Recruiting Report: Levi Dombro (2019)
Six-foot-1 guard Levi Dombro of Grandview is another junior-to-be ready to step forward in a good program.
“Our team definitely has high goals this year,” Levi said. “We’ve got a lot of firepower and talent and we aim for a league and state championship.”
Levi is working hard to be ready for his junior year helping a team that was 21-5 last year hit a similar mark.
“I’m working on improving my strength and jumping ability, as well as my ball handling and three-point shooting,” Levi said. “My goals are to help achieve my teams goals in any way possible.”
Levi helped take his game to a higher level this summer playing with the Colorado Chaos.
“I felt like I improved most in terms of confidence and becoming a more vocal leader,” Dombro said. “My coaches on Chaos really believed in me and I am thankful for the opportunity they gave me. I also felt like I improved my IQ through all of the high level basketball my team played at this summer, against some great teams it was needed.
“One of my top highlights of my 16u season were playing against some of the nations top teams, and getting to play in front of all the major coaches that came to those games.
“Other highlights would include getting to spend the year traveling with who became some of my best friends and getting to go out on the court and fight for them every game. But definitely my top highlight was earning my first college offer to East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas.”
East Texas Baptist is one of several schools currently calling Dombro. He has a couple visits set.
“I have heard a few times from Idaho State, Cornell, Columbia and Brown, along with some other Ivy League Programs. I’ve also heard from University of Mary, MSU Denver, Sioux Falls, and Regis.
“For D3s, I’ve received an offer from East Texas Baptist, and have heard from Colorado College and some other small schools. I am visiting Colorado College on December 5th and will be visiting University of Mary sometime in the spring.”
A professional in Germany is helping Levi work on his game.
“One of my best friends and trainers, Chris Hortman has influenced my game a ton from a mindset and skills standpoint, he’s done a ton to make me the player I am today.
“My favorite players right now are Chris Paul and Collin Sexton.”
