Top 2019 Guards Visit Kentucky
Kentucky’s 2019 class is one of the most talented classes to come through the Bluegrass State. In years past, there may have only been one or two players who were “Power Five” conference level talent. That is not the case with this class. A handful of prospects could potentially end up at some big-time schools. That is sure to be the case for Trinity’s David Johnson and University Heights’ Dekeyvan Tandy, both of whom visited the University of Kentucky this weekend.
David Johnson’s visit capped off a huge week that saw Trinity winning the 27th District tournament championship and Scout.com ranking him as a top 50 player nationally. The sophomore is averaging 11 points and 5 rebounds per game while leading the Shamrocks as their floor general. Trinity holds a 28-3 record going into the 7th Region tournament.
“KyKy” Tandy averaged 24 points per game this season before University Heights Academy lost out in the district tournament. The combo guard currently holds offers from Oklahoma, New Mexico State, and Western Kentucky and is sure to catch the eyes of many more coaches as the spring and summer AAU period draws nearer.
