Prep Hoops Colorado 3A Team Rankings: Week 1
Each year during the high school season we will rank the teams in Divisions 5A down to 3A, with a quick explanation on each.
With the season officially tipping off with a big slate of games Wednesday, here is our first set of 3A rankings:
1. Colorado Springs Christian (0-0)
Hard to pick against the back-to-back champs and the classification’s top player in Justin Engesser.
2. Manual (0-0)
Anson Ramiro’s squad made big waves last season and now add talented point guard Lian Ramiro.
3. Lutheran (0-0)
Will Willis, Austin Anguilm and company could be primed for big things.
4. Faith Christian (0-0)
Jonah Gardner, coming off a big-time AAU experience with the Colorado Hawks, is a player to watch.
5. Resurrection Christian
High-scoring point guard Tanner Ervin leads a team jumping up from 2A ranks and ready to prove itself.
6. Manitou Springs (0-0)
Leading scorer Lucas Rodholm is among the returners from last season’s 23-4 team.
7. Alamosa (0-0)
Senior guard Ryan Brubacher is in for a big season after averaging 15 points per game as a junior.
8. Colorado Academy (0-0)
Expect talented sophomore guard Hunter Shkapich to step in and lead.
9. Sterling (0-0)
The Tigers have some key returners from last season’s 19-win team.
10. DSST Stapleton (0-0)
The Knights will have a good early test at the D’Evelyn/Golden Preview Classic.
