Here is a preview of some things to expect from each division:
Favorites
Led by versatile 6-4 forward Alec Pell, Colorado Chaos 15s Elite has to be considered a frontrunner in the 15U tournament. The D1 Minnesota Prospects are consistently among the top programs in the Great Lakes region, and they too are likely to challenge for the championship. Colorado Anarchy, which turned heads at the Prep Hoops Spring Kick Off could also contend, and don’t be surprised to see Colorado Premier make a strong run as well. In the 14U Division, the Miners, Hawks and Chaos have all entered their top teams, while Billups has its 13U team playing up a division. Those groups are strong, as is the Colorado Elite squad that made it to the 14U title game at the Kick Off.
Players To Watch
Cameron LeVan, 5-8 guard, Colorado Premier 15U
A class of 2020 guard who is playing up a level, LeVan has impressed with his ball-handling ability and a strong mid-range game. He’s got strong maturity at the point guard position for a player who will be a freshman next fall at Legend.
Beck Page, guard, Colorado Anarchy 15U
Brown made the 15U all-tournament team at the Prep Hoops Spring Kick Off after averaging 15 points per game during Anarchy’s 3-1 run. In their only loss, to the Colorado Hawks 15s, Page poured in 19 points. Anarchy coach Brandon Brown calls Page “a savvy two-guard who can stroke it from anywhere.”
Jake Hassett, 6-6 forward, Colorado Elite 14U
We’re eager to get a closer look at the big man who helped lead Elite to the title game of the Kick Off earlier this month. Hassett has fluid movement for a player who has grown as tall as he has at his age, and he runs the floor well. He seems like a player with a high ceiling.
Hezekiah Swanson, 5-8 point guard, Colorado Hawks 14U
Swanson is a quick athletic guard who made the 14-15 all-tournament team at the Kick Off earlier this month. He’s dynamic with the ball in his hands.
