“I’ve gotten some letters from Transylvania and a couple of other D3 schools. They (Transylvania) sent my coach a few letters, but I haven’t really heard much directly from any schools,” said Kenney.
The 6-foot-3 wing is hoping that his play during his senior speaks for itself, and that eventually he can land with a college program.
“I would obviously like to play college basketball, and I’m just going to continue to play my game and hope interest starts coming in,” said Kenney.
As a starting wing with the Maroons, Kenney says he’s relied upon to knock down shots and rebound. Two things he considers to be his strengths as a player.
“I shoot the 3 pretty well, and I get a decent amount of offensive rebounds by crashing the glass — mostly I excel at shooting and rebounding honestly,” Kenney said.
“I need to continue to improve my ball-handling and my perimeter defense. I’ve been doing some ball-handling drills and I’ve been guarding some better players at practice, so I’m seeing some improvements in those areas.”
Kenney added: “We have a couple star-type players, so I’m just expected to knock down some 3s, and gather some rebounds for me to have a solid night.”
