There wasn’t much Zavier wasn’t doing on Tuesday night. The Richfield senior was blocking shots, pulling in rebounds, handling the ball coast-to-coast, finding open teammates for good looks, and scoring the ball in a number of ways. Zavier has a strong frame for a guard, and with that he was looking to post up whenever possible. He could back his man down and just finish over the top, utilize a quick spin move to open up a shot, or spot a double team and locate an open teammate with a pass. Showed some shot creation ability on the perimeter as well. On a BLOB play in the second half Zavier threw the ball of a defenders back and went right up with it for an and-one finish. Brought a ton of energy to the floor for his team that helped them pull off the win over DeLaSalle.

Zavier joins the Richfield program and will be an instant impact player on both ends. Defensively he showed he can sit deep in a stance and consistently turn his man on the ball. Keeps his arms out and moves his feet to avoid fouling while taking contact straight into his chest. Offensively you can’t afford to give him an inch of space as he started to torch the St. Cloud Tech defense from three, including a pair of daggers late in the game that allowed Richfield to pull away in the win.
