White is a lengthy and athletic swiss army knife that leaves his imprint on the game in a variety of ways, can play the 1 through 4 position effectively, and is a tough on-ball defender. The 6-foot-6 wing/forward has solid handles, uses the crossover to get his defender off balance, looks to get into the paint, uses the spin-move, Euro-step, and up-and-under lay-up to evade defenders at the basket, and moves well off the ball to get open looks off the catch, with accuracy from the mid-range to the 3-point line. White is relentless on the boards, has the handle to push the ball up the court, looks to attack from the high-post when playing at the center spot, and runs the floor well in the open court to get ahead of the defense for easy transition buckets. White is a tough on-ball defender, has the length to defend in the post, alters shots at the basket, and closes out on perimeter players to alter shots on the wing. The San Diego State commit went for 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals in the loss to Veritas.

Zach White is an intelligent player with excellent off-ball movement and good touch around the basket, finishing effectively with either hand. A good athlete and above-the-rim finisher, White is also a strong defender who excels in transition thanks to his good footwork. His athleticism and defensive skills make him a key contributor on both ends of the court.

The 6-foot-6 swingman has the tools to be a high level player and finds a way to impact the game regardless if he’s scoring or not. He will likely draw the defensive assignment for the best wing in each game they play in NJ. First up is a tough Columbus team that features the Boozer and Richardson brothers, expect White to spend time guarding a majority of them.

With a jam to start the game over the tall Campbell Hall defender in the 1st quarter, Zach’s skillset was on display from the get-go. He was energized from the beginning, as he was a constant pain for Campbell Hall trying to get back in transition to stop him. He was able to create for himself off the dribble, and drain the occasional jumper when it became available to him (including the full court heave he hit just after the buzzer sounded after the 3rd quarter). White was also a terror defensively, where his high IQ stood out when forced to switch onto the different crafty Campbell Hall guards. Zach White, who is only a sophomore, will continue to be one of the best players on the floor for years to come.
