Weirath had a game that keeps elevating and he looks poised to be a major factor in Grand Junction’s success once again this season. His combination of poise and physicality makes him a difficult matchup, as he consistently uses his strength to create space and get to his preferred spots on the floor. He showed a natural ability to score in a variety of ways, whether attacking the basket, finishing through contact or making big shots when the offense needed a spark. When the moment called for it he proved capable of taking over and carrying the scoring load. What stood out most is his relentless motor, as he competes with maximum effort on every possession and brings energy that impacts the game on both ends of the floor
Grand Junction was a surprise standout team this season as they turned plenty of heads and earned some respect across the state. A young player who stood out for them was their sophomore guard, Will WeirathWillWeirath

. Weirath finished with 12.7 points a game and had some big-time scoring performances. He was steady and consistent as a scorer; he got downhill and in transition, opened up the defense with his outside shot, and also turned defense into offense. Weirath was hunting shots and showed he could be the team’s go-to scorer when called upon, and is going to be a name to keep an eye on moving forward.
Weirath showed why he’s one of the most dynamic guards around and a player whose ranking deserves a serious jump. The flashy combo guard was a bucket all night, using his tight handle and quick burst to create space and attack the rim. He has a sharp cut step that lets him rise into his jumper smoothly, and when he gets a clean look from deep, he can drain the three with confidence. Beyond the scoring, Weirath competed on the defensive end as well, playing tough, in your face defense and bringing an edge that fueled his team’s energy throughout the game
Weirath is what makes Grand Junction even more dangerous and he’s only a sophomore as well. Averaging 12.5 points per game and coming off a season high 21, he’s already proving he can rise to the moment. He’s a confident scorer who isn’t afraid to get downhill, attack the rim and challenge defenders. His ability to slice through coverage and put pressure on the paint forces defenses to collapse, opening up opportunities for others. With his skill set and fearlessness at such a young age, Weirath gives Grand Junction another dynamic weapon and a glimpse of an even brighter future ahead

isn’t on many boards yet, but he should be. He quietly averaged 6.9 points while shooting a lights-out 43% from three as a freshman. That efficiency from deep forced defenses to stretch, allowing his team to use him in spacing sets and isolations. He reads the floor well, makes smart decisions, and creates for others out of closeouts. Weirath is a breakout candidate in Year 2, and will have the opportunity to put up big numbers. This summer will be about polishing his game as he will have plenty more eyes on him moving forward.
Weirath brings value thanks to his shooting efficiency, forcing defenses to respect him off the catch from behind the arc. Bringing consistent touch off of two feet, the guard is effective attacking downhill off the rip to plant for turnaround or even step through attempts once depending on if he can get his defender out of position.
Weirath brought a strong frame in the backcourt, tasked with defending some of The Valley’s best opposing perimeter playmakers throughout the weekend. Capable bumping away opposing drivers, there were few matchups where he did not provide a positive impact.
