Tunji might have given me one of the more interesting developments of the weekend.

We’ve already talked about the strength and positional size. Those things are still there. But on Day 2, what really caught my attention was the ball handling.

Tunji took on lead-guard responsibilities for his team and showed he could be a primary ball-handler, carry the load and dictate the pace when his team needed him to.

That’s a different layer.

Previous scouting on Tunji has already pointed toward his strength, downhill ability and slashing game. highlighted his rebounding, ability to defend wings and his scoring ability when his team needs a spark.

Boog’s Take: The ball handling is what stood out to me. If Tunji can continue adding that part of his game, it gives him another way to impact the game and makes him a much more interesting prospect moving forward.

Tunji brings an impact that goes far beyond what the box score can capture. From the moment he checks in, he applies relentless full court pressure, making opponents work for every possession while staying composed and disciplined. He understands defensive angles, positioning, and how to leverage his physical strength without constantly reaching or putting himself in foul trouble. His value comes through toughness, disruption, and the ability to make life difficult for whoever he is matched up against.

He plays under control, changes speeds effectively, and gets into the paint with confidence while keeping constant pressure on opposing defenses. His advanced footwork, feel for the game, and ability to read situations allow him to make smart decisions and pick his spots offensively. Beyond putting the ball in the basket, he consistently influences winning through his effort on the glass, defensive intensity, physicality, and willingness to do the little things that help his team succeed.
