Explosive, shifty guard who consistently puts pressure on the defense while maintaining excellent control downhill. He attacks gaps with purpose, absorbs contact, and finishes through traffic with impressive ease. Dangerous in the open floor with the energy to turn defense into quick offense. Brings a high motor on both ends and has the type of contagious intensity that can lift an entire team and its crowd.

Not far off in impact from his AAU teammate Smith, Abrahams will be an important piece of the St. Francis attack this season. His athleticism and quick first step allow him to live in the lane, and on a team stacked with wings and forwards around him, Abrahams might be the best initiator on the team. The end result might just be freshman of the year in the CHSAA.

Carter gave me one of the simplest notes of the weekend, but it might also be the one that tells you the most about his game:

Fast, but under control.

That matters with a young guard. A lot of guys can play fast. The question is whether they can play at that speed and still make the right decisions.

Carter has real burst and does a good job getting downhill. What stood out to me is that he doesn’t look rushed when he does it. He can get two feet in the paint, put pressure on the defense and still stay under control. I’ve seen that in previous viewings, and it showed up again at CP3 when the competition got better.

That was something I wanted to see this weekend, and Carter answered that question for me.

Boog’s Take: Carter’s speed is good, but the control is what makes it stand out. He can get downhill, put pressure on the defense and still make a play without looking rushed. For a young guard, that’s something I really like.

High-motor lead guard who excels in the open floor and understands how to push the tempo at the right moments. He constantly applied pressure in transition, getting downhill before the defense could recover and creating quality scoring opportunities. Offensively, he blended strong attacks to the basket with confident mid-range pull-ups, keeping defenders guessing. Defensively, he welcomed difficult matchups, generated turnovers with active hands, and made multiple hustle plays that shifted momentum. When the game tightened up, he answered with timely shot-making, delivering key baskets and making a winning impact on both ends of the court.
