One of the more exciting young guards we saw all weekend, Gray is stepping right into a starting role at Stony Brook and looked more than ready while taking over down the stretch to force overtime in a tight Saturday afternoon game. Gray was quick, aggressive, and fearless with the ball in his hands, mostly functioning as the primary handler while sliding off-ball comfortably as well. He left his biggest mark as a shooter, showing deep range and pure mechanics while connecting on a flurry of clutch jumpers in the second half. We would like to see him eventually start to put some more pressure on the rim, though he does showcase a nice floater game. His upside could potentially be limited by his lack of projectable physical skills but Gray’s skill level and tenacious approach should ensure that he’s heard from consistently moving forward.
