Expert Analysis
Brian Flinn | Prep Hoops Scout
Gottinger’s size and willingness to rebound and defend should help the freshman carve out an early role while allowing him to impact games without necessarily needing to score. The CHSAA is loaded with talented wing scorers this season, and Gottinger figures to be tasked with defending some of them when they match up with Xaverian. Already possessing good positional size and a competitive motor, he has the physical tools and mentality to hold his own against older competition. His offensive game will continue to develop with experience, but his ability to embrace the less glamorous aspects of the game should make him a valuable piece for the Clippers from the outset.
