JJ Smith came within one win of helping New York Lightning capture back-to-back Jr. EYBL Peach Jam championships after winning the title in 7th grade. He once again proved why he belongs in the highest tier of guards in the Class of 2030 with another dominant offensive showing in North Augusta. Smith consistently attacked the paint with power, using his strength, burst, and athleticism to finish through contact or elevate above defenders at the rim. He played in attack mode from the opening tip, putting constant pressure on opposing defenses and creating offense with his relentless downhill approach. His physical tools and ability to generate efficient scoring opportunities continue to separate him from most guards in his class.
