Tristan Latimore Tristan Latimore 6'3" | SG/SF Duluth Denfeld | 2029 State MN is a six-foot-two-inch 2029 wing from Duluth Denfeld (transferred from Duluth East) and plays with Starks Elite . Latimore has the ability to put the ball on the deck and go to the rim. When in the painted area and around the rim Latimore has good footwork and foot skills to stop, pivot and make moves that opponents have a hard time defending. Defensively Latimore can lock up guards with his lateral quickness combined with length and he can defend up on opponents because of his strength.

Tristan was a key player on both ends of the floor for Team 6. He’s a big and physical guard who can bully defenders around the basket, or beat bigger wings off the dribble. Defensively he was one of the hardest workers I saw all weekend, constantly pressuring the ball or battling for loose balls/rebounds. Tristan competes with an edge and steps onto the floor doing whatever it takes to help his team win. He put together a dominant second half in his team’s win over Team 1.

Latimore was stronger and more physical than the players that defended him and that led to a consistent high percentage scoring effort for his team. He’s a guy that ranked with the toughest to defend at the event.

Tristan simply took over in the second half of the game I watched. At around 6’2-6’3 he has a strong frame that makes him a mismatch nightmare as a guard/wing. He’s simply too strong for most players his age to handle, but if you guard him with a forward he can simply beat them off the dribble. Tristan was playing bully ball in the paint coming up with finish after finish inside. Really liked his work rate defensively as he was competing on every possession on that end of the floor.

The stalky and strong guard pushed his way a number times to the rim and finished contested short range shots and lay-ups for scores.

We’ve seen Duluth Denfeld at the state tournament recently, and the talent pool doesn’t appear to be drying up. Tristan played a key role these past few days in helping lead his Starks Elite team to a 4-0 record at the 15u level. At 6’2 he can play a variety of positions at this stage, spending time both running the point and out on the wing. Tristan could torch defenses from three, use his big frame to finish at the rim, or set up his big man in positions to score. Starks Elite played without any subs on Friday, but Tristan provided high levels of energy and production throughout the game.

Latimore used his physical strength and body to change the game by getting downhill. Tristan was great at playing off two feet. He impacted the game in a big way on offense and defense.

From the couple times I’ve seen Latimore he seems more of a  slasher/cutter type player from the perimeter which with good passing is very valuable.

He has a natural ability with the ball. He gets to the hoop and makes his lay-ups. As he matures, refinement to his game will just make him that much better.
