Expert Analysis

Miller, a forward out of the St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire, checks in at #13 among the centers and #109 overall. A high motor big man, the 6’7″ Miller has broad shoulders and a strong base, both of which aid him as a playmaker and finisher in the paint. He does a great job of using his strength to carve out space against larger defenders and also shows the ability to attack closeouts, put defenders on his hip, and score through contact at the rim. He’s a tough two-way rebounder, moves his feet well enough defensively to guard on the perimeter, and does a nice job of not giving up easy looks at the rim. Miller will continue his academic and athletic careers at Wesleyan.

was having a field day scoring in the paint. He showcased his soft touch, body control, and dexterity as he was playing through contact to get buckets or heading to the free throw line to make the defense pay. His transition passing also popped.

Miller, a member of Team Sims 17U UA Rise Circuit squad, is a versatile forward out of St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire. A hybrid forward that can score inside and out, he does a good job of making plays off the bounce from the high post, has a nose for the ball on the offensive glass, and continues to improve his consistency as a perimeter shooter. He runs the floor hard in transition and has the ability to play bully-ball around the rim as a finisher. Defensively, he can guard either forward spot and does a nice job of carving out space on the glass.

Miller has had a productive season with Team Sims but probably doesn’t get the attention he deserves because of how talented their roster is. He’s a 6-foot-7 wing/forward that can step out and hit the three ball but also uses his length and long strides to be effective in transition as a scorer and slasher. He also has a knack for finishing around the hoop, where he uses smart footwork and crafty head fakes to create room for himself to convert against larger defenders. Like Ricca, Miller should be a key player on St. Paul’s next season and will certainly end up on a college roster somewhere, perhaps even at the D2 level.

is a ball-handling forward with a burgeoning offensive game. Smooth and comfortable with the ball, he is a willing driver and uses his strong body to finish through contact effectively. Miller’s jumper is productive both off the catch from deep and off the dribble as he continues to improve in this department. Always persistent, he never gives up on a play as he will fight for putbacks, and often follows his missed shots. Miller’s cutting off the ball is also impressive and he doesn’t require the ball in his hands at all times to make an impact for his team. On top of that, he will bring explosion in transition and weak-side protection defensively. Miller is one that coaches and programs should keep a close eye on.

Miller was a player that made an impression last year at the Expo. He slashed and cut to the rim and displayed a terrific mid range jumper. Miller’s overall energy and stamina was so impressive last year that I believe I wrote about it at the time. College coaches, you’ll want to see Miller in the gym.

Miller showed a ton of hustle, especially when he was in the paint. If he was outsized he attacked the glass with relentlessness using his verticality.

Miller grabbed my attention late in the day. In a time when players were getting tired and slowing down, he was absolutely getting after it. He did a great job cutting hard to the basket and doing it pass ready looking for the ball. Miller was active and bouncy in the lane. He showed a pretty free throw line jumper as well.
