Expert Analysis
Miles Masercola | Prep Hoops Scout
Roper’s blend of size, understanding of the game, and tenacity make him another premier prospect in this class. Add in his vastly improved confidence and ability as a jump shooter and you start to paint the picture as to why he’s near the top of the list in 2029. Roper’s production as a freshman at Knightdale, on the 3SSB circuit with Team Loaded VA 15u along with the clear improvements he’s made in his game over the past year make him a guy that will be recruited at a high level. As he continues to progress in his high school career, I’m really interested to see how he’ll be utilized depending on who’s around him. He truly checks so many boxes as a prospect and plays with an edge that cannot be taught.

Roper continues to impress with his unique blend of power and skill at this age. He has a will to win and compete that cannot be taught and you really feel that when he’s working on the glass or moving bodies out of the paint on the offensive end. Roper is rapidly improving his catch and shoot game from distance which will make him that much more well rounded of a player. Roper possesses a really strong feel for the game as well and that shows in his passing, often giving up good shots for himself by giving it up for a great shot for a teammate. Roper will continue to be a primary option at Knightdale as he’s poised for a special Sophomore season.
