. He has not played in a high school basketball game in just over a year due to an injury he sustained early last season. He also missed all spring and summer. He came back a bit in the fall, but now is back full time. That is great news for the Lancers of Madison La Follette and for basketball fans in general. He finished with 30 points and six dunks in the win over Kenosha Tremper. He announced his presence on the court about three minutes into the contest with a massive one-handed tomahawk dunk in traffic. His size, length, smooth stroke and eye-popping athleticism will give Big Eight opponents trouble all winter. Here’s hoping Riak can use his senior season at La Follette to attract a bunch of attention from scholarship-level collegiate coaches. He’s off to a great start.

Riak is going to be difficult to contain on the glass this season. He is an extremely mobile prospect who most notably, uses his athleticism and quickness to rebound. At 6 ‘4 he’s often a mismatch cover with his nose for the ball and explosive second jump.

Thian is a high level finisher inside, and was producing around the rim all weekend long for Wisconsin PGC. Riak was a walking highlight with his high flying dunks, including a windmill dunk to cap off a win over Power 5 3SSB. Does a great job of playing off two feet which allows him to go up balanced and finish at a higher percentage in traffic. Continues to show flashes of his shot creating abiltiy out on the perimeter, getting good elevation on his pull-up jumper. Has always showed a lot of potential, but I was impressed with his production as well this past weekend.

Thian had a 6 point burst late in the first half that really helped swing the game around for Wisconsin PGC. After trailing just about the entire half, Thian threw down two dunks and drove to the basket for another lay-up to help his team go into halftime with a lead. In the 2nd half he just continued to find ways to get to the rim, and was a composed finisher off of two feet. Did a nice job of getting guys in the air with a shot fake and using his bounce to rise up above shot blockers. Capped off the win with a windmill dunk that he made look effortless.
