Kone appears to be settling into his new surroundings at Eagle Academy Bronx quite nicely. The athletic guard generated several steals and did a good job of finishing at the rim while also knocking down open threes when given the opportunity. No stranger to sharing the floor with talented guards, the former Cardinal Hayes standout is a strong fit alongside the current Eagle roster. His athleticism, defensive activity and willingness to play within the flow of the game should endear him to his new teammates and coaching staff quickly.

Kone has been getting a lot of coverage because of his strong play and transfer to the PSAL champs. He’s a serious athlete, plays above the rim, has value defensively and now is knocking down a ton of threes. His confidence is through the roof, his new team is using him all over the floor and he could the x factor to help Eagle go back to back. While there’s not much known about his recruitment we did learn that Albany decided to offer to Kone.

While all these additions will be able to score including Kone he brings a little different type of game to Eagle. He’s an elite athlete, a premium perimeter defender, he crates steals and havoc on opposing offense. His bounce is impressive, he’s tough, physical and loves to challenge his opponent. Kone could be the reason Eagle puts up another banner if he can contribute consistently.

Eagle Academy got even more positive news when they found out that Kone will be joining their already elite back court. While Kone has spent time running the show at Hayes we expect Eagle to use him all over the floor offensively. They can use his athleticism defensively to guard 1-4 in the PSAL, he can play the one to get their shooters involved or be used as a slasher to add more movement to the offense. So many possibilities.

Kone is a shifty guard who uses his quickness and handle to create scoring opportunities. He has the ability to put points on the board in multiple ways, whether attacking the rim or pulling up from deep. His feel for the game and natural scoring instincts make him a constant threat. With continued development, Kone has a high ceiling and the potential to become a standout guard.
