Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Wilkins’ impressive performance for the Mass Rivals in 3SSB this season is probably (in part) what led to him reclassifying to the 2025 class and committing to Duke early. He’s averaging 16.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, and despite his 30% three-point shooting percentage, I think his perimeter shot looks a lot better than it used to. If Wilkins is going to take his game as far as he can, it’ll be his shot that’ll be the X-factor, and he’s certainly well on his way to making that happen. He’s a 6-foot-8, long, athletic, strong, and skilled wing who can pass, dribble and shoot. What more could an NBA scout be looking for?

Wow. This was my first time seeing Wilkins in person and he certainly lived up to the hype. The 6-foot-8 wing/forward glides across the court like a deer and moves like he’s a short guard; he’s super on balance and controlled with his footwork and strides. He’s also an above-the-rim athlete with freaky bounce. What impressed me the most, though, was his shooting stroke. Both off the catch and off the dribble, Wilkins can stroke it; he has great footwork, a nice-looking shot, and consistency with his mechanics. The sky’s the limit for Wilkins, who should have another huge season at Brewster next year.

Wilkins is a dynamic wing who consistently showcased his slashing ability throughout the event. He attacked the rim with confidence and finished through contact at a high rate. Beyond his drives, Wilkins displayed versatility by scoring in multiple ways, including mid-range jumpers and transition buckets. His offensive skill set and energy made him a tough cover for defenders all day.

Brewster Academy won a tight contest over CIA Bella Vista and Wilkins was very productive in the win. A slashing forward who has the wiggle and shiftiness to get to the rim and finish, Wilkins did a nice job of getting to the rim consistently either as a driver or cutter. Wilkins also got to the foul line at will as he provided a bunch of rim pressure. Overall, I was impressed with Brewster Academy’s ball movement and their forward’s skill with the ball in their hands.

Wilkins’ combination of physical tools and athleticism is something very few players throughout the country possess. He’s 6-foot-8 and very strong, but he moves up and down the court like a guard; he’s shifty with his handle and has the sort of agility and quickness you see in smaller guards. On multiple occasions, he got well above the rim for dunks and showcased how lethal he can be as an off-ball cutter and slasher. His shot is still coming along, but the junior has a long time to figure that out, and his free-throws – which are often a good indicator of shooting potential – look pretty good. High major player who could reach any level he wants to with the right mindset.
