Legacy Ice Elite features a very skilled, talented backcourt that has gotten a lot of attention this spring and rightfully so. However, down around the basket, Johnson does a lot of the dirty work for this team that went undefeated at the Havoc in the Heartland. The 6’5″ post player made a couple of great moves against taller defenders in an impressive win over Progeny UAA on Sunday morning. Johnson visited and was offered by DePauw on Wednesday after the Tigers’ head coach watched him throughout the weekend.

showed the versatility every team looks for in a modern forward this weekend for Legacy Ice. At his size and length, he creates mismatches, especially against smaller defenders. He’s strong around the rim and comfortable playing with his back to the basket. At the same time, he can step out and knock down shots when left open. That inside-out ability makes him a difficult cover.

Zionsville has a handful of intriguing young prospects with Johnson being one that really stood out on Saturday at IU Team Camp. The 6’4” forward is an elite passer that really shined initiating offense in the Eagles’ half court actions. He was physical as a driver, active on the glass, and finished consistently around the basket. Johnson looked like one who will carve out a significant role for Zionsville High School this season.
