After battling through a banged-up ankle to start the season, Noah is now fully healthy, and it shows. The freshman has turned heads with a combination of length, athleticism, and skill that’s rare for a 9th grader. He’s splitting time between JV and varsity, logging four quarters at the varsity level and serving as the first player off the bench, and he’s made the most of those opportunities. As a frosh, Noah already leads the Warriors in blocked shots, using his size and natural instincts to create major problems on the defensive end. Opponents quickly learn that scoring around him isn’t easy. Offensively, Woods presents just as many challenges. He can slash and finish, stretch the floor with his three-point shooting, and consistently rebound in his position. What’s been most impressive is how seamlessly he’s blended in with the older varsity players. Noah isn’t just filling minutes; he’s taking and making big shots in big moments. Adding to the story, he also gets the opportunity to share the floor with his older brother,

He was the most consistent player for SSA and led his squad to the semifinals in the Championship bracket. Noah hustled all the time, even when his team was down. Woods ran the floor well, made accurate passes, set up others, boarded up, and dove on the floor. He came up with crucial steals and had a big dunk to put the team ahead in a close game. Noah also had a timely assist for the game-winner in that tight game. Woods showed out and played very well at the Future Stars Classic.

The young Mr. Woods has impressed people all spring and summer, this weekend will be no different. As a 2029, he has the length to be a low post, but, has the skill and hoop IQ to be a PG. He is an impossible matchup at the 14U level. Noah and SSA Black should have a good shot at winning the Championship, having had great success this season. If SSA ND East wins game one, the fans will see a fun matchup on Saturday morning at 11:15. Does he hit 3’s consistently and is he one of the elite athletes in the Championship bracket?

He and SSA SD Black 14U went 4-0 and won the GPA Championship! Woods got to the rim easily, hit open shots, passed the ball well, and crashed the boards. Noah’s defense was a difference-maker! His length and athleticism make it difficult for the opposition to score. Deng Mayen and Payton Sorensen also played very well. SSA Black played great, it was a team effort. They showed up when they needed to, played hard, shared the ball, and did the little things that led to wins.

Woods was expected to land as the top prospect for some time and there was no extra thinking involved in placing him as the #1 prospect. Elite 6’6” length, already has skills, with a crazy amount of upside if everything comes together, perfectly.
