Expert Analysis
Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
A player who got very little run on varsity as a Junior, Hines is one of the most improved players in Ohio’s 2025 class. A solid rim protector who has also added muscle to provide extra rebounding and post defense, Hines can defend on the interior or switch onto guards on the perimeter. Offensively Hines is still a work in progress but he rebounds it well and has the right idea when catching the basketball. I could see Hines using a JUCO or post grad program to get stronger and more ready for the college level but his trajectory is pointing upwards.

A player I had not seen since the spring and it’s clear Hines has made some pretty significant strides in multiple areas. An impressive shot blocker, Hines did a nice job of contesting shots without fouling and swatting shots away. Hines also scored off two separate BLOB plays, one set him up for an open dunk and the other was a mid-range shot. If Hines can protect the rim, rebound and play tough in the paint on both sides, he’ll be a crucial part of the Bulldogs attempt to win a state championship.

A big upside swing here, Hines got limited action this season for Saint Edward but flashed serious potential. In the first game I caught of his, Hines had three blocks Vs NDCL. Moves well for a prospect his size with a frame that should be able to put weight on, Hines is a forward who could look completely different 12 and 24 months from now. With a ton of seniors graduating for the Eagles this season, Hines could be a key piece of their team next season.
