Expert Analysis
Andrew Herman | Prep Hoops Scout
Oberti is having about as dominant of a season as you can ask for at the center position. Averaging a stellar 20 ppg along with grabbing 12 rebounds per game Oberti is a force to be reckoned with. At 6’10” he is quick on his feet for his size and runs the floor well looking for any sort of opening to get the easy finish around the rim. His pump fake and up-and-under moves under the basket make him a handful to guard. On defense, Oberti is averaging close to 5 blocks per game putting fear into offensive players looking to test him at the rim.

He has an effective post-hook shot he goes to when backing down defenders. Oberti is a very intimidating force down low in the paint as he stands at 6’10” with a long wingspan. Defenses do very little to affect his shots as for the most part he can just turn around and rise for the easy layup. His timing on offensive putbacks is excellent coming up with multiple offensive rebounds throughout a game. Oberti has a soft touch around the rim that gives him the ability to get easy baskets over smaller defenders.

Oberti is a tall and long player at the center position that can guard and control massive areas on the court. He doesn’t have to jump a whole lot when blocking someone’s shot. Oberti is excellent at blocking jump shots and will usually always get some sort of contest on every shot near him. If you beat him off the dribble at the top of the key Oberti will most likely send it off the backboard from behind.

Oberti has an impressive 6’10” frame already at his age. Playing the center position Oberti can block and send any shot into the bleachers no matter if gets beat off the dribble or is in the paint. He will contest everything that is even in his vicinity of him. The most impressive thing that Oberti can do at his size is guard the perimeter which can cause chaos for opposing offenses. Also, he can read the passing lanes just as well as anybody.
