Matthew was another key reason Nicolet was able to get out of their early rut and roll to a big win. He was relentless attacking the basket and using his length to finish right at the rim. Can score out of the block, off of dump-off passes from the dunker spot, or even off the drive where he has some good agility at 6’6. He finished the game with 18 points on 8-9 shooting from the field, with just about all of those makes coming in the first half. With all of the big names around him, Matthew won’t always put up eye-catching numbers, but he’s a forward this Nicolet team can rely on to produce in a number of ways depending on what they need from him.

Matthew may go a bit under-the-radar on a loaded Nicolet team, but his contributions are key. In a win over Milwaukee Lutheran he was constantly battling on the glass for rebounds, fully utilizing his 6’6 frame. Provides some rim protection but is comfortable stepping out and moving his feet to defend on the perimeter. Playing alongside some quick guards that love to attack, he’s always ready to catch a last-second dump-off pass and power his way up to the basket to finish.
