I honestly can’t understand what would have to happen for Sanchez not to get some serious burn next season at Union College. The 6-foot-1 guard might not wow with his size, but he’s remarkably athletic and is quite difficult to stop when he has a head of steam. He can run your team quite effectively, but he’s also able to pick his spots offensively and take over the game when he needs to. He’s the biggest part of Beaver’s incredible start this season, and he’s going to be an excellent D3 player for as long as he wants to be.

Sanchez was probably the best guard I saw at the Rivers Holiday tournament. The 6-foot-1 senior is a total blur on the fastbreak and consistently left defenders in the dust in the full court; he has insanely quick dribble moves while moving at high speeds, and he’s an explosive finisher at the rim, even with contact. I was also really impressed by his passing ability in the paint, where he showcased really good vision and patience, something I hadn’t seen as much of in AAU ball. Defensively, too, Sanchez is a DOG. He was on the floor constantly and even laid out for a loose ball while up more than enough with 2 minutes left in Beaver’s convincing win against Proctor.

Sanchez is a pretty electric offensive player. Against a CATS Academy defense that was pressuring him for 32 minutes, he showcased some special ball handling ability and quickness. He’s a one-man press break and makes excellent one-handed passes off the live dribble, so he can be both a facilitator and scorer. The scoring comes when the defense goes under screens or doesn’t send enough help on drives, which happens often. He will be Beaver’s best player this season and should be looked at by tons of D3 and maybe even some D2 schools. He’s super underrated.
